Hello Everybody,
I'm putting together a list of everything that we need to be prepared to party on the playa. Please add anything you think I may have forgotten and also volunteer for something that you can provide for the group. We all benefit from these items, so please contribute to the group and let's have another awesome year!
We need:
Shower construction (wooden pallet, six foot pipe, a piece of straight rebar, a metal S-hook, solar showers, a chair for your towel and clothes and a soapdish for your soap, a large piece 10'x4' of thick black plastic and four pieces of 2"x4" to make an evaporation pond and bring your solar shower!)
Generator and two full extra 5-gallon Fuel containers
Extension cords, power strips and Decorative Lights
Build our Burnable Cocktail Bar - a few plywood sheets and a jigsaw should do it. (visit: www.playatech.com/glimmerbar.html for more info)
Lots of Booze, fruit juice and mixers
Ice cooler(s) for bar ice
bar towels, bar trash can and garbage bags, cardboard box for goodies
Tennis balls, bungee cords and zipties for our parachute shade structure
lots of nylon rope (20 foot lengths preferrably)
u-shaped rebar (about 20 pieces?)
sledgehammer, gloves, big pliers
car port shade structure (for safety meetings)
tarps, carpet, hammock stands (anyone a welder?)
stereo system and speakers
I-pod anyone?
Let's also decide if we are gonna spend $600 for a new radio tower:
- a quick note, the radio tower will cost more to ship than it is worth, if we really want this someone other than Ozzy and I needs to step up.
--on the other hand, I thought maybe we could put Tony's dome under the parachute this year to make it a bit more bearable during the day

Here's my thoughts and can do list. Where the hell is everyone?
Showers: We had two last year. Whow built them and are they coming back?
Generator : not a clue but know they are on sale right now for about $300 - $400
Cocktail Bar: I have thoughts on it. We used a high boy dresser two years ago. I think I have one I can donate and even burn. It's about seeing how my ride pans out.
Booze & Mixers: I'm in. Remember exotic juice's too please for my famous morning after juice cocktails. Pineapple, mango, guava & those oragne juices that have banana and others mixed togehter work fabulous.
Ice Coolers: I think I have a couple. I'll check.
Bar Towels and trash bags: I have lots of bar towels (shocking I know) and consturction garbage bags. I would prefer stapling them to the bar then hauling garbage cans.
Tennis balls, bungee cords & zipties: I'll bring a fair share of each and think everyone should do the same.
Nylon rope: Don't have but willing to buy a share if needed.
U-shaped Rebar: Don't have any, will buy if needed.
Sledgehammer, gloves & big pliers: Phill has a sledgehammer I will ask to borrow and gloves to.
Car port shade structure: Don't have... ohhhhh please someone step up!
Tarps, carpet & hammock stands: dont have any
Stereo & speakers: notta again
I-pod: I wish!
I wish there were more people who could invest in the tower. But it looks ike P.U.N. will be small and intimate this year. Cool but makes things more expensive. I left a message for Russ and asked if he and Ray were coming. No reply yet. I told Sno that I am arriving on Thursday or Friday before the event opens with the ToL. I am on the early entry list but don't know if our placer will be there. I'll figure it out when I arrive. I am a bit nervous about this year. I planned to be more radically self reliant this year but fear for our safety and comfort without a shade structure, shower and bar. In my mind they are three of our key elements. I am clicking over to "plan Ozzy and P.U.N. now."
Sno - can you post a head count with names and whatever contact info you have. I am willing to lite a few fires. Ohhh and John and Denean got married yesterday. Rumor has it they are coming again...... I also saw your cool playa party list and was thrilled to see you know about Grville. I have a few clients in that camp and can't wait to hang with them on the playa.
